Forget queues and paperwork—issuing certificates and interacting with government agencies is now available right from your smartphone. The project was implemented as part of a strategic partnership with Turkey.

A landmark event took place at the TRNC Presidential Palace, heralding a new era in the delivery of public services. High-ranking officials and the public were introduced to the “KKTC E-Devlet” mobile application, designed to provide citizens with fast and secure online access to administrative procedures.
The formal presentation was attended by top state leaders, including President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of Parliament Ziya Öztürkler, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel. From the Turkish side, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri were present, underscoring the importance of the bilateral cooperation.
In his speech, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel noted that the launch of “E-Government” is not just a technological innovation but a key part of the economic and financial cooperation protocols with Turkey. He also linked the digital transformation to the country’s overall development course, recalling recent achievements: “Over the last two years, we have built 40 new schools and reinforced another 40 educational institutions. All our investments are directed towards the youth.”
The technical aspects of the project were detailed by TÜRKSAT CEO Ahmet Hamdi Atalay. He confirmed that Turkish technological expertise was successfully transferred to the island, and the “E-Devlet” system itself was built using advanced technologies to maximally simplify citizens’ lives.
For the residents of Northern Cyprus, this brings practical benefits: many administrative tasks, such as obtaining certificates or accessing ministry services, can now be handled remotely and much more quickly. Furthermore, the new system guarantees an enhanced level of personal data security. This launch marks the first decisive step in a large-scale digitalization program carried out with the financial support of the Republic of Turkey.
